"But why would I need yet another “self-help seminar”?! I don't really feel helpless — most of the time I'm the one supporting others. Still, everyone needs to take a step back from time to time, and even top athletes have a coach."

I ended up at the DM weekend half by chance and finally as a conscious choice. I have to admit — I made a very good choice.

I read (and use) a lot of “everyday psychology” — many clever mood-management tricks, thought patterns and communication moves are familiar to me by now. Maybe that's exactly why I was curious about the angle from which we'd peel that same onion again under Martin's guidance.

As I expected, I was already well across several topics (stress theory, the links between brainwaves and meditative states, etc.), but because we step-by-step retranslated all the theoretical knobs into something practical in a new way, the feeling of overload never came up — quite the opposite. It was interesting to try a breathing exercise I hadn't done in that direction before; to focus on relaxing certain points in the body I hadn't paid attention to; to play one moment with consciously directing my attention and energy and the next with stepping outside of everything conscious in the “3D-earthly” sense.

Group energy adds a lot to a personal experience. Did we get incredibly lucky landing in such an unbelievable training group? — I rather think it was “meant to be that way”, or in other words: when Martin organises something, the venture can't be anything less than legendary!

The best part in hindsight — the voluntary follow-up weeks for the part of the group that wanted to extend the experience and the looking-inward beyond the weekend, deeper and longer. We peeled the stress-onion again, and the new-recipe meditation omelette brings a nice shot of fresh energy into every day. A joy to grow and to mirror, both privately and in the conversation group. Thank you, Martin and seminar companions!
